I’m extremely excited to announce that I’ve been appointed to Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business to teach HRER 311 Employment Relations this Fall. The course will be taught in-person at Loyola’s Water Tower Campus on Tuesday & Thursdays for 15 weeks (8/30 – 12/11).

The course combines instruction on labor law, collective bargaining & unions with coverage of issues creating conflict in the non-union workplace (wage theft, harassment, discrimination & more). This is an active/experiential learning class that incorporates core factual knowledge & theories through reading and supplemental video materials created by the instructor. Classroom time will be used for dialogue and in-class activities, including presentations by students.

Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of basic case law in the field of labor relations & how unions, management representatives, and government dynamically interact to provide employee representation, balance group interests & ideally avoid disruptive workplace conflict.

Thanks to Loyola Chicago for this opportunity!
