Chuck Krugel-New Board of Directors’ Chairman Appointment

I’m excited to announce that on February 15, 2008, I was elected Board Chairman for The YMCA Alliance.

The YMCA Alliance (”Y-Alliance”) is the workforce development, adult education and literacy arm of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, one of Chicago’s largest nonprofits. The Y-Alliance is also part of Training Inc, a national jobs training network of agencies. The Y-Alliance provides training and education relative to computer, technology and administrative work, GED education, welfare-to-work programs and other vocational services.

The Y-Alliance was established in 1975. We serve approximately 1,000 people each year.
We’re located at 11 E. Adams in Chicago’s Loop, which puts us at the center of Chicagoland and the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago’s centers. This helps us serve clients and employers alike. The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago has been a crucial family and social services development organization since 1858.

Thanks to preceding Board Chair Michael O’Grady for recommending me for this position. And, thanks to Executive Director Laura Pleasants and the entire Board for their support. I’ve been part of the Board since 1999 and have been Board Treasurer since 2001.
